Red Eye (2005)
Red Eye is a film that keeps you on the edge of your seat but still ends happily. This is what makes the movie so satisfying: The stakes are high, the main character is smart and resourceful, and you have no idea what’s going to happen next.
Rachel McAdams is a workaholic manager of a high-end hotel who travels a lot. She gets on the red-eye and meets a man at the airport. She’s weary because she’s death from abuse in the past. What she doesn’t know, is that there is a much bigger conspiracy at hand.
It’s also elevated by the two main leads playing their parts with so much chemistry and nuance. Without Rachel McAdams and Cillian Murphey, the movie might have been mediocre, but they are so likable it makes it memorable.
Don’t watch if you can’t stand violence.
