This photo displays my knowledge of composition, like the rule of thirds, and shows my skill in capturing and editing a candid photograph. I approach news photos with the philosophy that I should capture the scene without interfering or altering it.
I look for the main action and the natural reactions to an event I’m covering. If its more of a static photo then I create compelling photos by changing up the angles and distance of the shot.
