I took this photo in 2018 when I visited Bojii, Ethiopia to help start a new school year for a small elementary school on my grandmother’s land. My parents started the Pangaea Foundation in 2015 to help children from my father’s hometown access basic education.
This photo illustrates my ability to take eye-catching photos to help market the foundation’s core message while also dealing with language and cultural barriers. Because the subjects are children, I also learned how to capture candid photos with chaotic subjects.
